Diseño - ART to WEAR
Remembered creating these for my thesis way back 2008. And later after that, became my personal collection that pushed me further to pursuing fashion design.
Diseño - ART to WEAR or simply ART to WEAR is an apparel collection that focuses on the use of BATIK, or wax-dyed fabrics. The process in creating Batik is native to the Indonesians. But later spread forth to Malaysia, Philippines, Borneo and the rest of South-East Asia.
When I made this collection, I even had my try on creating Batik myself using candle wax heated and placed on a "cap" and applied to the fabric. Let the design dry for a few hours... cracking the wax a little will add crackling designs... then pour the fabric with cold dye. and let it dry for a day.
"Feya's" Batik was made by me... took me a week and a half just to finish the creation of the Batik with 4 repeated processes to attain the right colors and design.
Here are a few of the 12 designs I made... which only 6 were produced.
============
Wasn't able to do some additional photos with the other produced designs: but here's an additional swatch and design board
And some photo I found from my old stash of photos during my thesis presentation worn by my models then are the "Rosa" and "Flordelize" designs

Steampunked Golems - Wireframe Animation
I did this scene last 2009... and just recently had it rerendered with wireframe animation.
Sadly being one of my first full scene works... this one had lots of poly counts.
Scene made and done using Autodesk Maya 2008 Extension 2
Rendered via Mental Ray
Compositing using Adobe After Effects CS2
Post-Production Animation using Apple iMovie
3D Environment - Garage in Ruins

Client: Personal Project
High Polygon environment creation with 29,000+ faces. Textures used were manipulated and recreated, also applied on the environment are Specular Maps and Occlusion Passes. Maxwell Render was used to render this scene.

Completion Time: 15 hours
Client: Personal Project - CGTALK's Steampunk Challenge
All Renders, except the sideview has Specular Mapped Textures and Occlusion Passes. The Textures for this project were a pain to recreate and modify. But glad it was a challenge worth creating.
Inspired by Steam Detective's scooter and Vespa.

TITLE: Steampunk Golems
Software(s): Autodesk Maya 2008, Adobe Photoshop, Mental Ray via HDR
Completion Time: 6 days 2 hours
Client: First Academy of Computer Arts - Thesis
This is the 2nd and last piece I presented for my Demo Reel defense at the First Academy of Computer Arts. And this work was also featured on Philippine Daily Inquirer's Tech Section last October 2008.
The whole scene is a high polygon environment with more than 300,000 faces... and was a pain to render with a mobile workstation. I was supposed to animate this scene back then, but with the restrictions of mobile workstation, I wasn't able to.
Anyhow, the renders had Specular Maps as well as an Occlusion Pass.
The scene was inspired by the films: Steamboy and Steam Detective.

Completion Time: 5 days 3 hours
Client: First Academy of Computer Arts - Thesis
This was one of two final works I presented for my Demo Reel defense at First Academy of Computer Arts. It's a high polygon model of a Caterham Super 7, it has more than 32,500 faces (including the engine and chassis). These were those days when I was not yet introduced to Zbrush.
All of the renders include Specular Mapped textures and Occlusion Passes. Post editing done using Adobe Photoshop CS3.

portfolio revival
With carbonmade having lots of restrictions on posting numerous works. I've decided to have this blog revived as an online portfolio.
As soon as I get my mobile workstation working again. I'll have my more recent works posted.
